BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Three Idaho cities crack the top 150 best small towns in America list according to Family Destination Guides. A poll of 3,000 families from across the US.
Sun Valley ranked the highest of the Idaho small towns at #60. With its iconic ski resorts, dramatic views, and boundless opportunities for the outdoorsy folks combined with incredible eateries and accommodations and the ever-possible chance of rubbing elbows with the Hollywood stars that call Sun Valley their home away from home, makes Sun Valley a great choice.
Next in line on the list at #62 is Sandpoint. With breathtaking scenery and world-class recreation and outdoor opportunities between Lake Pend Oreille and Schweitzer Mountain, Sandpoint is an obvious choice and a true gem in the Gem State.
Rounding out the Idaho contenders at #149 is Stanley, Idaho. The view of the Sawtooth Mountains alone should warrant a much higher spot on this list. Combine that with thousands of miles of untouched wilderness, Red Fish Lake, and a view of the stars at night that can make you want to immediately relocate and rethink a few things, Stanley is definitely one of the Best Small Towns in America.
